ATC: Heather, first, let's not ignore the elephant in the room. What happened to your forehead?
HC: I can't discuss it.
ATC: .....
How did you prepare for the competition?
HC: My career in general prepared me. There are other competitions, cake competitions, and sugar competitions, but nothing can really prepare you. You have to rely on experience.
ATC: How long have you been a professional pastry chef?
HC: Since 2001.
ATC: Who were your best friends on the show?
HC: Tania, Erika, Danielle, and Eric.
ATC: Have you kept in touch with them?
HC: Yes, and I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.
ATC: Did you consider dipping your peanut butter cookies in chocolate, or frosting or decorating them in any way?
HC: I believe someone suggested that and of course, when you look back, it is easy to see, but when you are in the middle of it, it is harder.
ATC: How many cookies did you bake?
HC: A lot.
ATC: Have you been watching the show?
HC: Yes.
ATC: Is there anything that has surprised you?
HC: Yes. The camera does add ten pounds...
ATC: What are you working on now?
HC: Right now I am working on a fundraiser event on Sunday for the Women Chefs and Restaurateurs organization.
ATC; Tell us about your restaurants.
HC: They are not really "my restaurants." I am a pastry chef at Hook Restaurant in Georgetown as well as at Tackle Box.
ATC: If I went to Tackle Box, what dessert would you recommend?
HC: It's a "Picnic-Style" restaurant and I would recommend the blueberry pie or the whoopie pie. At Hook, everything is seasonal. (Check out the dessert menu here.)
ATC: Heather, we are almost out of time, is there anything else you would like to say to your fans?
HC: Thank you and the future is bright. It has been both a pleasure and an honor to appear on the show. I have made friends that I will take with me for the rest of my life.
ATC: Thank you Heather!
